A 360 lace wig has lace running all the way around the perimeter of the cap, front, sides and nape, with a machine-made weft filling the middle. That band of lace around the edge is what it is for: it lets you pull the hair up into a ponytail or a bun and still have a natural-looking hairline at the back and sides, which a standard lace front cannot do.

What the lace buys you

With a lace front, the back and sides of the cap are visible the moment the hair moves off your neck, so updos are out. A 360 solves exactly that and nothing else. If you never wear your hair up, you are paying for capability you will not use, and a good lace front will serve you better for the money. If you do, this is the unit that makes it possible without a full lace price.

Cost against the alternatives

A 360 sits between a frontal unit and a full lace unit in price. It costs more than a lace front because there is far more lace and more hand knotting around the perimeter. It costs less than full lace because the interior is wefted by machine rather than tied by hand. That interior weft is also why you cannot part a 360 anywhere you like: the parting space is at the front, as on a frontal.

Fragility, honestly

Lace tears. A band of it running the whole way around the cap means more edges to catch, more places to pull too hard when removing adhesive, and a nape section that rubs against collars all day. Most 360 units fail at the lace, not at the hair. Take the unit off carefully with a proper adhesive remover rather than pulling, and never comb near the lace edge.

Securing it

Because the point is wearing the hair up, the whole perimeter needs to hold. Most 360 units have adjustable straps and combs as well as the lace, and using them matters more here than on a front-only unit, since a ponytail puts upward tension on the back of the cap. An elastic band along the perimeter under the lace is a common addition for people who wear updos regularly.
