Deep Wave Bundles: What to Expect

Deep wave is the fuller, more defined end of the wave range, and it's the texture people choose when they want volume that reads as natural curl rather than a blow-out. All four Kelly Beauty stores carry it in human, remy and blend, with matching closures and frontals.

The pattern

A tight, uniform S-shape running the length of the hair, with far more definition and volume than body wave. It looks fullest when wet or freshly conditioned and softens as it dries, which is worth knowing so the in-store appearance doesn't surprise you at home.

Keeping it defined

Deep wave needs more moisture than straighter textures to stay looking good, because a defined pattern is what dries out first. A leave-in through the lengths, a light oil to seal, and a spray bottle of water to revive the pattern between washes. Brushing it out destroys the definition, so finger-detangle or use a wide-tooth comb only when wet and conditioned.

Washing and drying

Wash gently, working downward rather than piling the hair, and squeeze rather than rub. Air dry where possible, since heat loosens the pattern. If you diffuse, keep it on low and don't disturb the clumps. Sleeping in a loose braid under a satin bonnet preserves the wave far better than leaving it loose.

Matching the closure

Buy the closure or frontal in deep wave, the same color code, in the same purchase. Pairing a silkier closure with deep wave bundles is the most visible mismatch in an install, since the difference in pattern shows immediately at the parting.
