A closure covers a smaller area at the crown and gives you a parting in one place, which is enough if you always wear the same part. A frontal runs ear to ear across the hairline, letting you part anywhere and pull the hair back off the face. The extra cost buys that flexibility and nothing else.

The size numbers

They're inches of lace. A 4x4 closure is four inches across by four back. A 5x5 gives a wider parting area. A 13x4 is the standard frontal, thirteen inches ear to ear by four back, and a 13x6 pushes the parting area deeper.

Buy it with the bundles

Match texture name, color code and quality, and buy them in one purchase so the batch matches. A closure added weeks later commonly differs enough in tone or texture to be visible, and that mismatch is the most common reason an expensive install still looks like one.

What else it needs

A wig cap or weaving net, thread and a curved needle, and adhesive with remover if you're gluing the lace. Lace tint or a light dust of foundation to match the lace to your skin. Tweezers if the hairline needs plucking, and small sharp scissors for trimming.
