Choosing Strip Lashes in Detroit

Length and where it sits

Uniform-length lashes give an even, doll-like effect. Lashes that graduate from short at the inner corner to long at the outer corner lift and elongate the eye, which is the more natural look. Very long lashes on a small eye can overwhelm it and touch the brow bone, which is uncomfortable as well as obvious.

Volume and density

Sparse, wispy styles read as your own lashes on a good day, which is what most people want for everyday. Dense, full styles are for occasions and photographs, where camera flash flattens everything. Criss-cross patterns look more natural than lashes set in an even row, because real lashes don't grow uniformly.

The band matters as much as the hair

A thin, flexible band sits closer to the lash line and is far more comfortable for long wear. A thicker band is easier to handle while applying but shows unless covered with liner. Clear or invisible bands disappear without liner; black bands add definition but need liner to blend. If you're new to lashes, a thin black band is the most forgiving.

Everyday or occasion

It opens at 8:45 AM every day but Sunday, with the latest closing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8:15 PM. Coming from downtown or Midtown, Gratiot runs straight there; from the west side, 7 Mile or Davison to Conner is the quickest way over.
