Choosing Lash Glue in Detroit

Clear or black

Clear glue dries invisible, which suits a natural look and clear-band lashes, and it's more forgiving of untidy application. Black glue dries as a dark line along the band, which doubles as eyeliner and makes a black band disappear. If you always wear liner anyway, black glue saves a step. If you don't, clear is the safer choice.

Latex-free matters more than people expect

Many traditional lash glues use latex, and latex sensitivity is reasonably common and can develop over time. Symptoms are itching, redness and swelling along the lash line, which people often blame on the lashes themselves. Latex-free adhesives are widely available and worth defaulting to. Patch-test any new glue on your inner arm before using it near your eye.

Hold strength

Standard adhesives hold for a normal day. Strong or waterproof formulas hold through a long night, humidity and dancing, and are correspondingly harder to remove. Buying the strongest available for everyday wear makes removal rougher on your natural lashes than it needs to be.

Shelf life and storage

Lash glue thickens and stops working within a few months of opening, regardless of what's left in the tube. Wipe the nozzle after each use so the cap seals, store it upright and away from heat, and replace it when it strings or goes gluey rather than fighting it. Old glue is the most common reason lashes lift at the corners.
