A light mousse over a finished braid or twist style lays down the flyaway ends of synthetic hair, cuts the frizz that develops within a week, and adds a small amount of sheen without the greasiness of oil. It is the standard refresh for braids that have gone fuzzy at the crown, and it works on styles that oils would weigh down.

Working with synthetic hair

Synthetic fiber frizzes as it is handled, and mousse is one of the few products that calms it without flattening it. On crochet styles, twists and wigs, a small amount smoothed over the surface tidies the whole thing. It is not a substitute for the water-and-conditioner refresh that revives a curl pattern; it is what you use afterward to hold the result.
