Bleaching and Lifting Dark Hair Safely

Bleach is the most damaging thing you can do to hair and the only way to lighten it significantly, which makes it worth understanding rather than improvising. What bleach actually does

Bleach opens the cuticle and dissolves the pigment inside the hair shaft. That process is not reversible and it permanently weakens the structure, which is why bleached hair is more porous, more fragile and slower to recover.
