Lace Front, Closure Wig, 360 or Full Lace

Wig caps are built several different ways, and the names describe how much lace is in them and therefore what you can do with the hair. Our Warren store on Van Dyke in the Majestic Plaza carries the range, open until 9 PM Monday through Saturday, which is time enough to see the differences side by side.

Closure wig

A closure wig has a small lace panel, typically four by four inches, at the crown, giving a natural parting in one place. It's the most affordable of the lace constructions, the most durable, and it suits anyone who wears the same part every day. What it will not do is let you pull the hair back off the face.

Lace front

Lace runs along the front hairline, so the hair can be worn off the face and parted anywhere across the front. The rest of the cap is machine-made, which keeps the cost down and the unit sturdy. For most people this is the balance point between realism, price and durability.

360 lace

Lace runs around the entire perimeter, front and nape. That allows high ponytails and updos with a convincing hairline all the way round. It costs more, and there's more delicate lace to damage. Worth it if you wear your hair up often, unnecessary if you don't.

Full lace

The whole cap is lace, so the hair can be parted absolutely anywhere. It's the most versatile and the most convincing, and also the most expensive and the most fragile, since lace tears where a machine-made cap would not. Full lace suits someone who restyles frequently and handles their units carefully.

Our Warren store is at 27750 Van Dyke Ave in the Majestic Plaza shopping center, between 11 Mile and 12 Mile. It's open until 9 PM Monday through Saturday and 6:30 PM on Sunday, which makes it the usual evening stop for Warren, Center Line, Sterling Heights and the Oakland County suburbs off I-696. Van Dyke gets you there from the south, and the I-696 Van Dyke exit from the east or west.
