Wig Shopping in Warren, MI

A wig is one of the few things genuinely easier to buy in person, because cap fit, density and how a hairline sits against your face decide the result and none of them show in a photograph. Our Warren store on Van Dyke in the Majestic Plaza carries a full wall, open until 9 PM Monday through Saturday.

What to work out before you choose

How often you'll wear it, since daily wear points toward human hair or a durable machine-made cap, and occasional wear points toward synthetic. Whether you want to part it anywhere or in one place, which decides between a closure wig, a lace front and a fuller lace construction. And whether you want to avoid adhesive entirely, which points to glueless.

Getting the cap size right

Measure around the head at the hairline, front to nape, and ear to ear over the top. Most units come as average, with small and large available. A cap that's too large slides regardless of how tight the straps are; too small and it lifts at the nape and gives you a headache by the afternoon.

What to buy with the unit

A wig cap to go underneath. Adhesive and its remover if you are gluing, or nothing extra at all if the cap is glueless. A shampoo and conditioner made for the fiber. And a wide-tooth comb or a looped wig brush, since an ordinary brush pulls knots out of a cap.

Coming from around Oakland and Macomb

Van Dyke runs straight to the plaza from north and south, and I-696 exits at Van Dyke for anyone coming from Southfield, Royal Oak, Ferndale or the eastern suburbs. It's the only one of our four stores west of the Gratiot corridor, which makes it the practical wig stop for that side of the metro.

Our Warren store

Our Warren store is at 27750 Van Dyke Ave in the Majestic Plaza shopping center, between 11 Mile and 12 Mile. It's open until 9 PM Monday through Saturday and 6:30 PM on Sunday, which makes it the usual evening stop for Warren, Center Line, Sterling Heights and the Oakland County suburbs off I-696. Van Dyke gets you there from the south, and the I-696 Van Dyke exit from the east or west.
