Glueless or Glued Lace Front: Which to Choose

The wig wall at our Warren store on Van Dyke, in the Majestic Plaza, has both, and the choice comes down to how you plan to wear it rather than which is better. The store is open until 9 PM Monday through Saturday, which gives you time to look at both properly.

How long it stays on

A glued lace front can stay in place for days at a time, which suits someone who wants to install once and not think about it. A glueless unit comes on and off in a minute, which suits someone who wants it off in the evening or who wears it only some days. Neither is more secure while it's on; they just have different rhythms.

Comfort and skin

Adhesives sit on the skin along the hairline and some people react to them, with irritation or breakouts along the forehead. Removers are harsh if used often. Glueless removes that entirely, which is why it's usually the answer for sensitive skin, for teenagers, and for anyone recovering edges from previous tension.

Realism at the hairline

A well-installed, well-customized glued lace front is still the most convincing at the very front, particularly when the hair is worn back off the face. Glueless units have narrowed the gap, especially those with pre-plucked hairlines, but at close range and with hair pulled back, glue still wins.

Cost over a year

A glued install costs adhesive, remover and usually the time or expense of customizing the lace, repeated each time. Glueless costs more up front for a comparable unit but nothing per wear. If you wear a wig most days, glueless generally works out cheaper across a year as well as being easier.

Our Warren store is at 27750 Van Dyke Ave in the Majestic Plaza shopping center, between 11 Mile and 12 Mile. It's open until 9 PM Monday through Saturday and 6:30 PM on Sunday, which makes it the usual evening stop for Warren, Center Line, Sterling Heights and the Oakland County suburbs off I-696. Van Dyke gets you there from the south, and the I-696 Van Dyke exit from the east or west.
